HARDSHIP POLICY

David wrote the Hardship Policy that the Executive Board adopted to assist members with Quarterly Dues when they are suffering from a medical hardship. This formal policy is designed to support workers as they await a decision on their eligibility to retire due to a disability or while their doctor clears them to return to work. Members must submit doctors' notes to support their disability claims. But this is the same information that must be submitted to the Disability Income Fund for temporary disability benefits or the Social Security Administration for disability benefits. Local 720 can process this information more quickly than the Social Security Administration and help members.
