ONLINE MERCHANDISE STORE

The establishment of a Local 720 Online Merchandise store has been a recurring goal discussed over the past few years. This initiative aims to provide members with a convenient way to purchase shirts, hats, and other items without needing to visit the Hall.

A test website has been developed, but due to the front office staff's focus on other pressing needs, there hasn't been sufficient time for testing. David is working towards launching a functional online store within the members-only section of the Local 720 website once adequate testing is completed and staff availability permits. Currently, the ongoing developments with the Dispatch System, the transition to a new financial portal system, and the implementation of the approved Work Rules have prioritized other tasks, leaving limited time to advance the online store project.

There is considerable enthusiasm and numerous ideas regarding Local 720 merchandise and swag. However, a challenge exists in that many members are unaware of the available shirts, hats, and other items. As members increasingly opt for direct deposit, there are fewer occasions to visit the Hall and the check center. Launching an online store featuring images of all available items would enable members to proudly display their Local 720 union affiliation. The online platform could also facilitate reserving sizes that are out of stock or even pre-ordering items that are not yet available.
